Second City? Not this weekend! Join The History Chicks for a weekend adventure through Chicago, where  history takes center stage. From the Gilded Age to the Progressive Era—and, of course, the legendary World’s Fair—we’ll uncover the stories that shaped the city. Along the way, we’ll savor modern classics like deep-dish pizza, celebrate Chicago icons like the Cubs, and share it all with a group of like-minded travelers.

Day One: Welcome to Chicago

Welcome to the Windy City!
We kick off our Chicago adventure with drinks and appetizers at an iconic rooftop bar, complete with stunning lake and city views. Meet your fellow travelers, soak in the skyline, and toast to the weekend ahead. Then, hop on our double-decker sightseeing bus to explore the city’s most famous landmarks and iconic spots.

We begin our day at Glessner House, touring the home of forensics pioneer Frances Glessner Lee. After exploring the house, enjoy a docent-led walk down Prairie Avenue, ending at the Second Presbyterian Church, home to stunning stained glass by Louis C. Tiffany. We’ll return to Glessner House for a group lunch before heading to Hull House, Jane Addams’ famous safe haven where women worked to improve their lives and communities.

Spend the day immersed in the 1893 World’s Fair, a favorite topic in many The History Chicks episodes. Begin with a walking tour of the fairgrounds to bring history to life, then explore the Chicago History Center before visiting the Museum of Science and Industry- the only remaining building from the World’s Fair. We’ll break up the day by paying homage to another Chicago legend over deep-dish pizza at Lou Malnati’s for lunch!

Chicago is a city of art and architecture. We begin our day at the world-renowned Art Institute of Chicago, exploring masterpieces—including works connected to former The History Chicks subjects. After your museum visit, enjoy some free time to embark on a personal side quest through the city.

We’ll come together one last time for a farewell dinner cruise along the Chicago River, admiring the skyline and iconic architecture as we toast to new friendships and unforgettable memories.

Enjoy one last breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Safe travels and see you on another adventure!
