September 11 – Welcome to New York! Check into our host hotel, a beautifully renovated art deco gem nestled in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Get settled in and then join your fellow travelers and your favorite podcasters, Beckett and Susan of The History Chicks podcast, for a meet and greet at a spectacular rooftop bar with stunning city views. Sip craft cocktails, nibble on delicious appetizers, and get ready to make memories with new friends!
We’ll continue the party and experience the magic of New York City from the comfort of our privately chartered double-decker bus! Join us for a captivating city highlights tour where you can relax and take in the iconic sights as they unfold before your eyes. Marvel at landmarks like the majestic Brooklyn Bridge, the historic Flatiron Building, and the poignant floodlights that mark the former site of the Twin Towers.
September 12 – Alice Roosevelt Longworth spent her childhood summers in the breezy Long Island town of Oyster Bay. Today we make the journey to her family home, Sagamore Hill. This National Park site looks much the same way it did when it was considered the summer White House with many original furniture pieces and artwork.
But our adventure doesn’t stop there! We step into the iconic Russian Tea Room frequented by Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. We Indulge in a rich afternoon at the world-renowned tea house, where you’ll enjoy a luxurious tea experience amidst the unmistakable red interior. It is the perfect uptown afternoon.
Tonight we have an optional excursion to see the new Broadway musical, Suffs. Perfectly suited to The History Chicks audience, this musical takes us back to 1913 and tells the story of the brave women who fought for the right to vote.***
September 13- Get ready to explore uptown Manhattan with an exciting visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s premier art museums! Marvel at masterpieces by renowned artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and Edmonia Lewis. The Met really has something for everyone! Feel free to wander and carve your own path through the museum before we regroup for more adventure!
After immersing ourselves in the world of art, we’ll transport back in time to the extravagant Gilded Age on a walking tour of Fifth Avenue mansions, expertly curated by The Bowery Boys podcast. Discover the hidden stories behind these majestic buildings, some have been repurposed over the years and some have been demolished. Our guide will help us visualize those that once stood on Manhattan’s bustling corners.
Tonight, prepare to be swept away into the revolutionary world of Angelica, Eliza,… and Peggy, the Schuyler Sisters as we experience Lin Manuel Miranda’s Broadway sensation, Hamilton! Immerse yourself in the captivating story of Alexander Hamilton’s New York—a truly quintessential Broadway experience that will leave you spellbound.
September 14- Today we see how New York City’s other half lived at The Tenement Museum. This museum, filled with emotion, narrates the journey of millions of immigrants seeking a better life in America. They found themselves cramped in the tenements of lower Manhattan while constructing the city’s towering skyline. During our tour, we will explore an apartment from the early 20th century.
But our lower Manhattan adventure doesn’t end there! Join us for another captivating walk through Lower Manhattan curated by The Bowery Boys. Discover hidden gems and iconic landmarks, including the historic Asch Building, site of the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, as our knowledgeable guides bring the city’s history to life.
And what better way to wrap up our day of exploration than with a party on the water? Join fellow The History Chicks fans aboard our privately chartered vessel for an evening of dinner, drinks, and dancing against the stunning backdrop of the New York skyline. An unforgettable experience!
September 15- Standing in the harbor, a mighty woman with a torch, the Statue of Liberty remains a symbol of freedom to this day. We begin our day with a visit to Liberty Island where we can get up close and personal with the Statue of Liberty! Walk the perimeter of the island taking in the city skyline views and visit the new museum dedicated to the statue before boarding the ferry once again.
Next, we visit Ellis Island, the initial destination for immigrants arriving in America from 1892 to 1954. This site processed millions of immigrants and now serves as a museum, shedding light on the challenging journey these individuals faced upon arrival. Through their personal belongings and stories, we gain insight into their experiences and leave with a deeper respect for our ancestors who paved the way.
It’s time to bid farewell, but not before enjoying one final dinner with our newfound best friends! Our dining destination is the renowned Delmonico’s, known for its prominence during the Gilded Age. Delmonico’s was the backdrop for many extravagant parties during that era and welcomed some of the city’s most skilled chefs. We will savor authentic dishes like the wedge salad and Chicken a la Keene as we conclude our tour.
September 16- Indulge in one final breakfast before checking out of the hotel. We hope you leave with unforgettable memories, new like-minded friends, and a newfound appreciation for the rich history of this incredible city – arguably the greatest in the world- and all in a New York minute!

Package Pricing:
The package price for a single room is $4,595per person. The package price for a shared room is $3,675 per person. A $500 deposit is required at the time of registration and is non-refundable. The final balance will be due on 7/11/24 and will be paid by invoice to Like Minds Travel and is non-refundable at that time. If you are registering with a roommate, but want to be billed separately, fill out the form individually and place each others name in the space indicated. You will be paired in the same room. Like Minds Travel does not pair solo travelers with a roommate.
Airfare and airport transfers are not included in the package price. Like Minds Travel recommends flying into Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Newark International Airport (EWR) and utilizing ride share services or taxis to transfer to the hotel.
