Day One: Welcome to London
Welcome to London!
We kick off this party in true London fashion- at the Pub! We will enjoy a few drinks and snacks before boarding our very own double decker sightseeing bus for a London highlights tour.
Day Two: History and High Tea
Our day begins at the magnificent Westminster Abbey, where centuries of history are etched into every stone. With our certified Blue Badge guide leading the way, you’ll uncover the Abbey’s secrets—its breathtaking architecture, legendary events, and the stories of the remarkable figures laid to rest within its walls.
After a break for lunch, we’ll gather again at the elegant Fortnum & Mason for an unforgettable afternoon tea. Guiding us through the experience will be Eileen, a tea etiquette expert, who will share the art and traditions behind this quintessential ritual. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll feel like a true lady or gentleman—all while savoring delicate treats, fragrant teas, and the company of new friends.
Day Three: Cottage, Cathedral, Castle
Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Jane Austen with a delightful journey into the English countryside. Our first stop is the charming village of Chawton, where we’ll explore the very cottage where Austen penned her most beloved novels. From there, we’ll continue to Winchester Cathedral, the final resting place of this literary icon.
The afternoon takes us to the magnificent Highclere Castle, instantly recognizable as the setting of Downton Abbey. Here, we’ll be welcomed with tea and biscuits in the grand salon before embarking on a private tour of this stately home—still the residence of Lord and Lady Carnarvon. It’s a perfect blend of history, literature, and a touch of television magic.
Day Four: From Roman to Georgian
Today we’ll discover just how swift and smooth England’s high-speed rail can be as we journey through the countryside to the ancient Roman city of Bath. Our visit begins with a self-guided tour of the remarkable Roman Baths, where history comes alive in the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Stroll along Georgian streets, admire the stunning architecture, shop local boutiques, or simply soak up the timeless charm that has made Bath a favorite for centuries.
Day Five: In the Footsteps of Royals
Step back into the world of the Tudors with a morning visit to the magnificent Hampton Court Palace, once home to Henry VIII. Wander through grand halls, breathtaking gardens, and the famous Tudor kitchens before enjoying a delicious lunch at the cafe on site.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue on to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world—and a favorite residence of the late Queen Elizabeth II. With its royal apartments, St. George’s Chapel, and centuries of history, Windsor offers a perfect finale to a day steeped in pageantry and tradition.
Day Six: Cotswolds- Grand and Quaint
The Cotswolds are the very picture of the English countryside, and today we’ll have the chance to experience their charm firsthand. Our morning begins at the grand Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill and once home to American heiress Consuelo Vanderbilt after her marriage to the Duke of Marlborough. With its stunning architecture and sweeping grounds, Blenheim offers a glimpse into a world of aristocratic grandeur.
From there, we’ll trade palatial splendor for the cozy charm of Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages. Known for its quaint shops, delicious food, and timeless beauty, Stow is the perfect place to wander, shop, and soak up the slower pace of village life before we return to London.
Day Seven: Tower Legends
Step into centuries of intrigue at the Tower of London, one of England’s most iconic historic sites. From royal coronations to infamous imprisonments, the Tower has seen it all—including the tragic story of Anne Boleyn. Take the day to wander through the Crown Jewels, the medieval towers, and the tales that bring this fortress to life.
For those looking for a little extra culture, there’s an optional excursion to Six, the musical that tells the tale of the six wives of Henry the VIII a perfect experience after a visit the the Tower of London.
Day Eight: The Grand Finale on the Thames
Our final full day in London is a celebration of history and art. We begin at the National Portrait Gallery, where you can spend the morning discovering the faces and stories of the many historical figures featured by The History Chicks and beyond.
The afternoon is yours to tick off your personal London bucket list—whether wandering iconic streets, visiting favorite landmarks, or enjoying a little shopping.
In the evening, we’ll come together for a private three-hour cruise along the Thames, sailing past legendary sights like Big Ben and Tower Bridge. As we enjoy dinner and drinks aboard, we’ll raise a toast to a truly unforgettable adventure in one of the world’s grandest cities.
