The stars have aligned for an immersive Astrology Retreat with celebrity astrologer, author, and host – Aliza Kelly! Aliza’s inaugural in-person Lunar Lodge takes place in one of the most spiritually energetic landscapes in the world, just north of Los Padres National Forest, in California’s High Desert.
Our home base is Cuyama Buckhorn Hotel — a beautifully renovated mid-century hotel originally built in 1952. We’ve reserved the entire hotel to host Lunar Lodge, providing Aliza’s guests with an intimate, exclusive experience. Connect with your fellow stargazers at the property’s locally-fueled bars and restaurants, cool down in the swimming pool, heat up in the hot tub, cozy up at the fire pit, and sprawl out under the stars at our sequestered oasis. During this retreat, we’ll spend time in nature, taste the legendary wines of California, and dine al fresco on Cuyama’s carefully crafted culinary cuisine all while enhancing our knowledge of astrology and mysticism through Aliza’s hands-on teaching.
In addition to exploring Aliza’s unique form of practical astrology, each participant will learn how to transform their life experiences into a symbolic language, a process that invites the practice of TANC – There Are No Coincidences. Complementing practical astrology, TANC is a metaphysical philosophy created by Aliza that points to mindfulness and empowerment through conscious reflection. Additionally, those seeking to deepen their spiritual practice will have the opportunity to explore new ways of utilizing creativity through astrology, tarot, and hands-on spell work. Participants will focus on the symbolic language that reflects their personal stories, transforming them into effective narratives for their clients.
ITINERARY:
Day One: Check in to Cuyama Buckhorn and connect with the community in private tranquility. Settle into your unique room and enjoy the resort before meeting Aliza and your fellow astrology students at the extra long outdoor dining table for a delicious dinner assembled by executive chef Daniel Horn, where Aliza will introduce the weekend’s astrological programming, explore individual and group astrology, and invite the group to participate in a welcome ritual.
Day Two: Good morning, stargazers! Rise and shine to enjoy breakfast. Cuyama Buckhorn’s kitchen is organic, local, seasonal, sustainable, and delicious! The resort is also equipped to accommodate any dietary requests, so there will surely be something for everyone. After breakfast, join your fellow retreat members, preparing for an exciting day ahead with a sound bath and meditation.
After our bespoke sound bath, we will gather for our first workshop. In the privacy of our intimate group, we will discuss our individual relationships with the signs, planets, and houses, sharing stories that bring each astrology principle to life. Here, the group will explore the practical interpretations of astrology that bring the constellations to life. Aliza will also connect practical astrology to TANC as a metaphysical practice, offering prompts and examples that will be used later in the day.
After this powerful coursework, guests are invited to luxuriate at the resort. We’ll all reconvene for an excursion to the nearby breathtaking Los Padres National Forest for a picnic lunch followed by a hike suitable for all fitness levels. Using the prompts cultivated with Aliza, students will have the opportunity to practice TANC in the wild, mindfully connected to the natural world to enhance their metaphysical practices.
After this incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience, we’ll return to the comforts of Cuyama Buckhorn for well deserved rest and relaxation. This evening we will dine in a laid back California cool indoor/outdoor hotel addition. Our day is not done yet! Meet on the meditation circle for an incredible stargazing party led by a certified guide blending our astrological knowledge with the actual stars. The stargazing will focus on the Full Moon under some of California’s clearest sky’s right here in the Cuyama valley — here, we’ll begin to prepare for our Full Moon Coven Meeting.
Day Three: Our day begins with an invigorating sound bath and meditation on the lawn, followed by a delicious breakfast with all your new best friends.
We’ll start the day with another in-depth astrology and magick workshop. Aliza will lead groups of students through identifying elements of a birth chart, working with them practically, symbolically, and creatively. The next step is to merge astrological awareness with TANC to illuminate the unique and magical possibilities present in one’s chart.
Next, Sagebrush Annie’s Winery will bring their award-winning wines to us at Cuyama Buckhorn for a tasting complete with a picture perfect cheese board. After sipping delicious libations, we’ll gather at the long outdoor dining table for our final group dinner before gathering at the meditation circle, this time for the Full Moon Coven under the full moon, a rare and life changing experience.Take some time to relax and freshen up before the grand finale of our retreat: the first ever LIVE IN-PERSON Full Moon Coven Meeting hosted by Aliza.
Day Four: After an extraordinary experience, it’s time to say goodbye. Enjoy one more delicious breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Astrology reminds us that we are the masters of our own destinies. And now — awake, illuminated, and inspired — we can infuse the magick of the Lunar Lodge into our realities. Although this journey has come to a close, our new relationship with the stars is just beginning.
